Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and how to contact us

MyReminders is operated by Desire Innovations LLC, a Californiacompany, which is responsible for (the “controller” or “data fiduciary” of) the personal information described in this policy.

For any privacy question or request, email appsupport@desireinnovations.com. We aim to reply within 30 days.

Users in India: our Grievance Officer for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act can be reached at appsupport@desireinnovations.com(subject: “Grievance”). We will acknowledge grievances promptly and resolve them within the time required by law.

2. Information you give us

• Account details — your email address and, if you choose one, a password. If you sign in with a one-time email code, we send that code to your email address.
• Contacts you add— names, and optionally phone numbers, email addresses, relationship type, time zone and personal notes (for example “loves gardening”) for the people you want to remember.
• Occasions — birthdays, anniversaries and other dates, and whether they repeat yearly.
• Messages — messages and greeting cards you write or schedule, the channel (email or WhatsApp) and the time they should be sent.
• Your phone number (optional) — if you add it in Settings, we confirm it with a one-time code and use it only so wishes from friends who saved you by phone can reach you in the app. It is never shown to other users.
• Support requests — anything you send us when you contact us.

The people you add are not necessarily MyReminders users. You must have their permission to store their details and to message them (see our Terms).

3. Information from your device (mobile apps)

The apps only ask for a permission when you use the feature that needs it, and explain why first.

• Contacts (optional).When you choose “Import from phone”, the app reads your address book on your deviceto show people and their birthdays. Only the contacts you select are sent to us: their name, phone number, email address, birthday and anniversary. We never read contact notes, and we don’t upload your address book.
• Photos (optional).“Discover dates from photos” looks at the dates (and, on supported devices, on-device image labels such as “cake”) of photos you allow it to access, to suggest occasions you may have forgotten. This analysis runs entirely on your phone. Photos and their contents are never uploaded; suggestions are stored on your device, and only a date you confirm is saved as an occasion.
• Notifications (optional). If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can remind you about upcoming occasions and confirm deliveries.
• Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint (optional).Biometric unlock is handled by your phone’s operating system. We never receive or store biometric data; the app only learns whether the check succeeded.
• Purchases. If you subscribe in the app, Apple or Google processes the payment. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your card details.

4. Information collected automatically

• Service logs — our hosting providers record technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, and request times, to keep the Service secure and working.
• Analytics — on the website and the web app we use Google Analytics to understand which pages and features are used. The iPhone and Android apps contain no advertising or analytics SDKs.

5. How we use information

• To provide the Service: store your contacts and occasions, remind you, and send messages you schedule.
• To write message drafts with AI when you ask: the recipient’s name, the occasion, relationship type, tone, language and any notes you added are sent to our AI provider to generate a suggestion. Nothing is sent to the AI provider unless you request a draft.
• To show insights such as relationship health, streaks and badges, calculated from your own data.
• To send service emails (for example sign-in codes and reminders) and, if you agree, product updates.
• To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run MyReminders, and only what each one needs:

• Supabase — database and sign-in.
• Groq — generating message drafts when you request them (with Google’s Gemini API as a backup if Groq is unavailable).
• Resend — delivering emails (recipient address and message).
• Render and Vercel — hosting our servers and websites.
• Expo, Apple and Google — delivering push notifications.
• RevenueCat, Apple and Google — managing in-app subscriptions.
• Google Analytics — website and web app statistics.

The full list, with what each provider receives and where it is located, is on our sub-processor list. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect people’s safety.

6a. Wishes between MyReminders users

When you send a wish to someone who also uses MyReminders, we deliver it to them inside the app as well, so they can open it and say thank you. We recognise them by matching the email address or phone number you saved for them with the confirmed email address or verified phone number on their MyReminders account. They see your name and your message; we never tell you whether one of your contacts uses MyReminders.

Wish links. Wishes you send from MyReminders include a short link (for example app.myreminders.world/w/Ab3dE9xQ) so the person can open your wish in MyReminders. Anyone who has the link can view that one wish, so it is only added to the message you send them. If they open it and sign in, the wish is saved to their account and your contact for them is linked to it, so your later wishes reach them in the app. Links that are never opened, and the wish text behind them, are deleted after 60 days.

In-app wishes and thank-you notes are kept so the recipient can read them, and are deleted when either of you deletes your account. To stop receiving them, email us.

7. Where information is stored

Our providers are mainly based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

8. How long we keep information

• Message text is removed from our database once a message has been delivered. We keep a record of who it was for, and when and how it was sent, so you can see your history. The exception is a wish delivered inside the app to another MyReminders user, which is kept for the recipient, and the wish behind a wish link, which is deleted after 60 days if the link is never opened (see 6a).
• Account, contacts, occasions and notes are kept while your account is open.
• When you delete your account, we immediately delete your profile, contacts, occasions, scheduled messages, greeting cards, device tokens and sign-in. Copies in encrypted backups and logs expire within 30 days.

9. Deleting your account

In the iPhone or Android app, go to Settings → Delete account. You can also email appsupport@desireinnovations.comfrom your account’s email address. Step-by-step instructions are on our account deletion page. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, also cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, California law or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict some processing, and withdraw consent. You can edit or delete contacts and occasions in the app at any time, and turn off device permissions in your phone’s settings. To make a request, email appsupport@desireinnovations.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. In addition, contact names, phone numbers, email addresses and notes, occasion titles, and the text of scheduled messages and wishes are encrypted field by field (AES-256) before they are stored, with keys kept separately from the database, so they are unreadable to anyone browsing or copying the database. Our servers decrypt them only to send your messages and write the drafts you ask for. Row-level security means each account can read only its own data, and changes go through our server, which checks every request. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

12. Children

MyReminders is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect their information; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Cookies

The web app uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in. The website and web app use Google Analytics cookies, which you can block in your browser settings.

14. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
